this is the production diary relating to all things lither. not all things. only productions.. hence production diary
entries will be added whenever, might make an effort to add one every week but thats a little generous, considering my track record with anything thats supposed to be regular ever.
dates are formatted as such: DD. MM. YYYY if you think the use of dots instead of slashes is weird you can copy all the text on this page, paste it into a google document, hit "CTRL + F" and use the replace feature to change all dots to slashes!
hi! welcome! hello! greetings! this is my (lithers) production diary for all sorts of projects im doing. the one that is relevant to this entry is THE HOTEL. remember that one? its kind of garbage. im working on completely redoing it so its less of a big dookie dogshit (thank you corby for that phrase) but i might fail and give up on the project all together. its happened a few times with other shows ive wanted to make. whatever.
whats on my mind is ive met someone who is like, very excited for the hotel. that is ridiculous. there is nothing to like yet. its not out. im not going to be a dick to this person and say "bro why do you like this consume good (and existent) medias like fuzzle battle" but its still kind of.. odd. im not used to people i dont know liking my stuff, even though i met a few of them already. remember lavatank?
it just kind of makes me nervous that im going to get a big head before ive even accomplished anything... i hate people who do that. or, i guess, who that happens to, now that im thinking about it. its kind of sad... i like to pride myself on my "artistic integrity" but i dont know how ..integral it is to me. i posted something on twitter the other day, it went something like "i think its kind of sad how many people prioritise getting small bits of fame or money over their own artistic fulfillment in the osc" the person i was most thinking about when writing that, was of course karim, maybe chappymontser as well. i just dont know how someone can enjoy themselves when they dont really think about enjoying themselves, but instead other peoples enjoyment in relation to what theyre making, it sounds dreadful. it always makes for the most worthless, bland art ever, since its only about public appeal, avoiding controversiality or even just speaking about any subject to any depth at all. i guess thats something that i dont think ill ever lose, keeping my art truthful to myself, speaking about what im feeling. i dont think i could ever really write something that just.. is, because what would i write about? if theres no truth to what youre writing, its not very human. thats just how it is in my opinion, you can study screenwriting at college as hard as you can, but if theres not that real, human understanding behind something you lived through yourself it risks easily becoming forced or distasteful/out of touch.
a tangent i cut out which was meant to be after that "every show is the same" sentence:
im not talking about "NOOOOOOOOO, THEY'RE COMPETING!!!!!!!! NOOOOOO, FUUUCCKK!!!!!" but more like.. so many shows just do whatever other shows do because its "in", like every rigged animation show being in BFDIA's art style, just because! we have to do what jacknjellify is doing! WE HAVE TO! the main show im referring to when i talk about this is of course, Object Invasion, the new one, obviously. That show could really be something special, but it just cant help being the most safe, boring, lame ever... I am not a fan of it, which some of you may have already witnessed. I don't know why anyone would like it compared to the original, or any other show, because it offers nothing. It has that annoying 'Object Show Community Animator Center' 2023 humour and its so obnoxious. I don't even remember anything from that show, admittably, i have only seen the first ~3 episodes and then i clocked out
a tangent i cut out after "remember lavatank?"
he called one of my animations "michael huang soul" and thats probably supposed to be a compliment but michael huang is probably one of the most over-rated object show animators of all time. over time, his work devolved into very artificial and obnoxious constant movements with seemingly no direction, as if they were made just to be clipped on twitter with "BRO THIS ANIMATION IS SO GOOD BRO!" and "michael huang is the james baxter of the osc" (which is just insulting to one of the greatest animators of all time. youre gonna compare him to the person who recorded "i am no longer a virgin"? have we lost all plot as a species?) sorry, im on a tangent. i just really needed to criticize michael huang. its just kind of sad how nice and effective his animation style was during the first three years of BFDI, and then randomly he started to most likely pour hours and hours into the most annoying animations ever starting with the split. theyre not even bad on a technical level, theyre just really, really, annoying. its sad! this is going on for too long.
